The Execution of the Speaker

The programme I created for The Execution of the Speaker, a piece of theatre that explored social divides through a satirical lens by putting real-life conversations about politics and economics in the context of debates such as whether Jaffa Cakes are biscuits or cakes, and whether Spotify or Apply Music is better.

The programme needed to reflect the tone and tenor of the performance. It needed to be brightly coloured and convey the satirical nature of the piece while also being informative about the piece and fit on two sides of A4 paper.

The first page shows the title of the piece in a way that immediately shows it will be a humerous production and uses the primary piece colours of blue and orange.

The second page includes a brief synopsis and overview of the piece’s inspiration. This is followed by details of the cast and crew surrounded by images of the production.
